One practical starting point. Adapt the example to your products and your store’s settings.

  1. A shopper finds a sold-out favorite

    The product page displays a restock signup card. Signed-in customers can use their account email; guests enter an address and give consent.

  2. Make the request clear

    When confirmation is enabled, the customer confirms the email request. The card and My Account show its status, with controls for owned requests and eligible confirmation resends.

  3. Notify when the right item returns

    Scheduled processing rechecks availability and queues a one-time stock alert. A specific-variation request waits for that variation; an eligible any-variation request waits for the first available option.

A customer's preferred size

Collect an alert for a sold-out variation when WooCommerce can resolve that selection, so the request follows the option the customer wanted.

Prioritize products with waiting shoppers

The Products report groups requests and counts distinct subscribers. Search and filter products, then sort by demand or tracked stock-out duration.

Keep the experience on brand

Style the product card and customer pages separately from confirmation and stock-alert emails. Preview colors, copy, layout, and product imagery before saving.

A simple path from sold out to back in stock.

A shopper requests an alert for an unavailable item and confirms their email when confirmation is enabled. The background queue checks availability and sends a one-time restock notification when that item returns.

Requires WordPress 6.6+, WooCommerce 9.0+, PHP 8.1+, scheduled processing, and a configured email transport. Test signup, confirmation, restock, and cancellation with your theme before launch.

Can I keep my existing SMTP plugin?
Yes. WordPress delivery uses your existing wp_mail() transport, including an installed SMTP plugin. SendGrid is optional.
Does an alert reserve stock or guarantee delivery?
No. Alerts do not reserve stock. Notifications depend on scheduled processing and your email transport; sender acceptance does not prove inbox delivery.
Can I purchase this plugin now?
