Leaving a product review in WooCommerce usually means finding the product again, opening its page, and scrolling down to the review form. For a customer with several past orders, that is several separate trips, and the ones they meant to review are easy to forget. A WooCommerce product review reminder helps, but only if it leads somewhere useful.
This guide sets up Review Your Purchases. By the end, signed-in customers will see a reminder banner on your site with the number of purchased products still waiting for their review, and a button to one dashboard where they can review those products at their own pace. Note that the reminder is a banner on your site, not an email.
What you need
- WordPress 6.2 or later, WooCommerce 8.1 or later, and PHP 8.1 or later.
- Review Your Purchases, with its license activated on your site.
- Product reviews turned on in WooCommerce. The plugin uses your existing review settings, including star ratings and moderation.
- Optional: Client Fidelity & Rewards, if you want to show the points customers could earn for eligible reviews.
Step 1: Install the plugin and activate your license
Activate the plugin while WooCommerce is active. It creates and publishes a Review your purchases page and adds a Review purchases item to the WooCommerce My Account menu.
Then open UFP → Review Purchases, go to the License tab, enter your key, and click Activate license. The review dashboard, the reminder and review submissions need an active license. Existing reviews are never removed, and standard WooCommerce reviews keep working either way.
Step 2: Write the invitation
Open the Banner tab. In Banner content, give the reminder a clear Banner title. In Banner message, use the Product count (plural-aware) dynamic tag so customers can see how many purchases are waiting for a review. It inserts {product_count}, which prints the number with the correct singular or plural word. A custom message must include this tag to be saved.
Next, set a Button label that explains the next step. Leave Button URL blank to link to the review page automatically. Any content field you leave blank uses the plugin’s translated default text.
Step 3: Match the banner to your store
Under Colors & style, pick one of the Color palettes: Terracotta, Forest, Midnight or Plum. Then adjust the accent, background, text, button text and border colors to suit your storefront.
Under Layout & details, choose an Inline or Stacked layout, Comfortable or Compact spacing, a shadow, and a Solid or Outline button. You can also set corner radius and border width, and decide whether to Show the product count badge and Show the button arrow.
Step 4: Preview, save and place the reminder
The Live preview has a Preview size switch for Desktop and Mobile, and a Product count menu to test the wording with 1, 4 or 20 products. Check both sizes, then click Save banner.
The banner appears wherever you add its shortcode. Put [wc_review_reminder] on a page, in a widget, or in a Shortcode block, for example on an account or content page. The banner stays hidden for logged-out visitors and for customers with nothing left to review.
Step 5: See the review dashboard as a customer
Sign in as a customer who has paid orders. In the video, this customer has two products to review. The banner shows the count, and its button opens the dashboard.
Each product on the dashboard has its own star rating and review field. The customer can choose a rating and write a review for one product, leave the others blank for later, and click Submit reviews. The pending count then drops to one.
Submitted reviews are standard WooCommerce product reviews. They follow your usual moderation settings and, once approved, appear alongside the product’s other reviews.
Step 6: Let customers come back later
Customers do not need the banner to find their list again. The Review purchases item in My Account opens the same dashboard, with the remaining products waiting. Longer purchase histories are split into pages of 20 products, so the form stays easy to use.
Step 7: Show reward points (optional)
If you run Client Fidelity & Rewards, open the Integrations tab. It shows whether UFP Client Rewards is installed, active and ready to reward reviews, with a link to its review reward settings.
Then open the Settings tab. For the banner, Points per review tag and Potential total points tag make those tags available in the Banner editor; points only appear where you insert them. For the review page, Points per review and Potential total points show a reward summary, which you can design in the Review page tab. All four options start off.
Good to know
- The reminder is an on-site banner for signed-in customers. The plugin does not send emails.
- The dashboard lists published, review-enabled products from paid orders, newest purchase first. A product bought more than once appears once, and fully refunded items are left out.
- A product leaves the customer’s list once they have reviewed it, including a review that is still waiting for your approval.
- Reviews remain part of your store if you uninstall the plugin, and the review page is kept so you can decide what to do with it.
- Points shown from Client Fidelity & Rewards are estimates. That plugin decides eligibility, approval and awards.
Frequently asked questions
Does Review Your Purchases send review reminder emails?
No. The reminder is a banner on your site that signed-in customers see when they have purchased products waiting for a review. Because the review dashboard is a normal page on your site, you can also link to it from your own messages. Customers sign in to see their purchases and submit reviews.
Are these normal WooCommerce reviews?
Yes. Customers use your store’s star ratings and review fields, and the reviews follow your existing moderation settings. They show up on product pages like any other WooCommerce review.
Does the dashboard only cover the customer’s latest order?
No. It covers eligible products across all paid purchases, ordered by the most recent purchase. Repeat purchases of the same product are combined into one entry.
Do I need Client Fidelity & Rewards?
No. Review Your Purchases works on its own. Client Fidelity & Rewards adds optional points messaging, and it stays in charge of who earns points and when.
